Nicasio Gonzalez III., 78, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Nicasio proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam War veteran. His commitment to his country and his community was a testament to his strength and dedication. He carried the pride of his service throughout his life, and his legacy of courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Nicasio's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. Above all, he cherished his role as a grandfather, always eager to share love, laughter, and wisdom with his grandchildren. His in-laws were an important part of his life, and he treasured the bond they shared.
A true family man at heart, Nicasio loved hosting gatherings, especially BBQs, where he could cook for those, he loved and enjoy the company of his family. He was known for his warm hospitality and the joy he found in having his family close, whether it was around a meal or simply spending time together. He was a generous man, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Nicasio's happiness was infectious. He had a cheerful disposition that brightened the lives of everyone around him. He loved celebrating Christmas, sharing in the joy of the season with his family, and was known for his kindness and laughter. When he wasn’t spending time with family, he could often be found watching his favorite TV shows, particularly Gunsmoke, or enjoying a sweet raspa.
In addition to his love for family, Nicasio was a hard worker who approached everything he did with dedication and perseverance. He traveled with his beloved wife, creating memories together and cherishing their time spent both near and far.
Nicasio leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service to his country. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicasio and Hermila Gonzalez; his siblings, Nori G. Galindo, and Noemi G. Barrera; his uncles, Jesus Yzaguirre, and Antonio Yzaguirre; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Juan and Elida Gonzalez.
