Nelson Gomez, 65, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend of many entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 18, 2015. Nelson was educated in the Laredo public schools, having graduated from Martin High School in 1969. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1970 thru 1972 as a CPL with a tour in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa until his Honorary Discharge. Upon his many community service memberships, they include membership in the LULAC Council No. 7, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Telephone Pioneers of America. He attended Laredo Junior College upon his return from the war until 1974, having subsequently joined the workforce at Southwestern Bell (AT&T) from that year until his retirement in 2009.
