Mr. Isabel B. Castro, Jr.
September 5, 1936-September 3, 2021
Mr. Isabel B. Castro, Jr., 84, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, September 3, 2021.
Mr. Isabel B. Castro Jr. was born September 5, 1936 in Laredo, Texas to Isabel and Angela Castro. After the passing of his mother, he was adopted by Simon and Isabel Garcia Briones. He learned to drive at a very young age, a skill he applied to later in life when he started his owner-operated trucking service. He brought farming goods from the north to many local businesses. His love for the open road and adventures as he traveled throughout his years later on became stories that his children and grandchildren would enjoy to hear and cherish. Life sent him down a different road where he joined the booming oil drilling industry. His dedication and commitment to learn earned him the position as foreman for the company Oil Field Rental for many years until his retirement. Though his jobs required him to travel, he lived in Laredo his entire life where he met the love of his life of over 53 years Maria Dora Castro and raised their children. He enjoyed his weekends helping at the family ranch, and smoking his famous brisket at family gatherings. In his spare time, he watched programs related to history and enjoyed old western movies. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren at sporting and school events.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Dora Castro; siblings, Ofilia C. (Jose S.) Gonzalez, Minerva (Atanacio) Lopez, Domingo (Graciela) Castro; his parents, Isabel Castro and Angela B. Castro, and adopted parents, Simon and Isabel Garcia Briones.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Isabel “Abel” Castro III, Ana Castro-Aguilar (Jose Alberto Sr.), Marisa Cover (Don III); grandchildren: Miguel Angel “Mike” Castro (Danielle Grier), Raul Antonio Castro, Myrna Alejandra Castro, Emmanuel Trinidad Castro, Jose Alberto Aguilar Jr. (Mireya), Christopher Aguilar (Jeanette), Carlos Daniel Aguilar, Christian David Aguilar (Angela Ramirez), Joaquin Alexander Cover, Israel Dominic Cover, Mackenzie Alyssa Cover; great-grandchildren: Christopher M.
