MOLLY MARTINEZ Molly Martinez entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2014. She was born in Laredo, Texas and was the daughter of Alejo and Dolores Gonzalez. She was married to her beloved husband, Joe R. Martinez. Molly was well known throughout the Laredo Community. She was a very kind, gentle, and caring women. She had a very loving and generous heart. Molly was always willing to give to others and to the community. She was very active in the Elysian Social Club for the past 26 years and served as president for two years. Recently she had been elected Parliamentarian for 2014. Molly also dedicated endless hours helping Border Region Behavioral Health Center where she served as President for the past twenty years. Molly Martinez has been an active member in Women's City Club for twenty two years. She served as president for two consecutive years. Her many contributions include helping the Lady of Guadalupe Church (childhood church) by donating numerous gifts for annual Jamaica's, The Battered Woman's Shelter, and others as well. Her accomplishments include: The Tejano Achiever's Award, and the Laredo Women's Hall of Fame. Molly Martinez was preceded in death by her parents, Alejo and Dolores Gonzalez; her brothers, Juan and Luis Gonzalez; and her grandson, Joseph Martinez. She leaves her loving memories to always be cherished by her husband, Joe R. Martinez; six children and thirteen grandchildren. Her children include: Richard (Irma) and grandson Samuel K; Dr. Robert Al (Rhonda) and grandsons, Robert Jr. (Jordan), Austin, and Steven; Raul and grandchildren, Jose, Marina, and Veronica; Dr. JoAnn Davis and grandson, Jacob Davis; Jackie (Virgil) Gutierrez and grandsons, Justin, Carlos, and Jerek; Jessica and grandsons, Joey and Jake. Molly is also survived by her two brothers, Alejo and Jesse Gonzalez and her sisters, Margie, Yolanda, Tere, Alicia, and Armandina. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels; 1410 Jacaman Rd.
