MINERVA G. IBARRA
March 15, 1942 – August 20, 2017
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is pardoning that we are born to eternal life.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Minerva G. Ibarra, 75, on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her residence. She was born on March 15, 1942 in Laredo, Texas to Jose B. Garza and Simona G. Garza.
Minerva worked at LCC for 44 years as a counselor. Her most important contribution was to help and guide students into their future academic endeavors. Minerva was an individual that worked hard, loved others, and enjoyed life. Her most enjoyable characteristic was the capacity to laugh. Her greatest passion in life was watching her grandchildren succeed and excel in all their academic and extracurricular activities. She was their greatest supporter, along with her husband.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Francisco Ibarra; and three daughters, Adriana (David) Sanchez, Melissa (Juan) Canavati, and Judith (Steven) Bianchetta. She is further survived by her sister, Estella (Rogelio) Maldonado and her six grandchildren, Alexandra and David Sanchez II, Gabriela and Carolina Canavati, and James and Francisco Bianchetta. Along with numerous relatives and friends.
