With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the esteemed Minerva Leyendecker, 96. On August 27, 2024, as the sun gently set, she left this world behind, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A woman of refined taste and gentle spirit, Minerva found solace in the simple joys of life. Her green thumb tamed the earth as she tended to her flourishing garden, finding peace among the flowers and foliage she nurtured. In moments of relaxation, she would turn to her favorite drink, a well-crafted margarita, savoring its flavors with a twinkle in her eye.
Travel was her passion, leading her across oceans to the vibrant landscapes of Mexico and the historic wonders of Europe. With each new adventure, she collected memories like cherished treasures, weaving a tapestry of experiences that enriched her soul.
Throughout her earthly journey, Minerva found solace and joy in the vibrant energy of Las Vegas, a city that ignited her spirit and filled her soul with unparalleled delight. The glitz and glamour of Las Vegas captured her heart, providing a resplendent backdrop to her life's fondest memories.
Minerva was not only a traveler but a talented bowler, she found camaraderie on the lanes, showcasing her skill with every roll, will forever be remembered as moments of pure happiness and shared connection.
Above all, Minerva treasured moments spent with her family, relishing in their company and the bonds that held them close. Whether out on the town or gathered at home, she found comfort and fulfillment in the presence of those she held dear. As we prepare to bid farewell, we reflect on the beauty of her life and the warmth of her presence. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the shadows of loss. Future generations will gather to honor her legacy a testament to the impact she had on all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Leyendecker Sr.; children, Luis Leyendecker and Fred Leyendecker; parents, Pedro & Gertrudis Tijerina; brother, Judge Pete Tijerina.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Laura Leyendecker, Rene Leyendecker, Leopoldo “Polo” Leyendecker and Lamar (Robert) Massey; as well as, 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great great- grandchild, other relatives, and friends.
A private service was held.
Pallbearers were: Dylan Massey, Robbie Massey, Matt Leyendecker, Trey Leyendecker, Luis Zapata, and Andy Lopez
