Minerva Garza

Minerva was embraced by our Lord on August 13, 2011 at the age of 88. She was born in San Diego, Texas to Ramon and Bartola V. Reyes. She was a descendant of Cecilio and Gertrudis Valerio (La Rosita Ranch) and Jose Antonio and Isidora Reyes (Los Reyes Ranch) all of Duval County Texas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Norberto De La Garza Jr.; her parents, Ramon and Bartola Reyes; parents-in-law, Norberto and Elisa De La Garza; brothers, Arnoldo Reyes, Ramon (Guadalupe) Reyes, Adolfo Reyes, Armando Reyes;-brothers-in-law, Lazaro (Guadalupe) De La Garza, Fausto (Maria Elena) De La Garza; sisters-in-law, Nena De La Garza (John) Johnson, Josefina and Maria del Refugio "Cuquita" De La Garza.

Minerva is survived by her children, Cordelia Elrod, Elisa (Alfredo R.) Gutierrez, Patricia (Emilio) Davila Jr., Norberto "Tito" (Rosie) De La Garza III, Linda (Pepe) Leal, Nelda (Roland) Lopez; grandchildren, Jacy Elrod, Jamie Elrod, Alfredo R. Gutierrez III, Delta Gutierrez-Garcia, Alonzo R. Gutierrez, Merissa Davila, Emilio Davila III, Lazaro De La Garza, Triana De La Garza, Marivel "Mimi" (Rene) Rodriguez, Linda Cristina (Ronnie) Obregon, Gabriela Leal, Isidro Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Jose Armando Garcia Jr., Kaelyn Elrod, Annie Obregon, Miranda Peralta, Rene Roman Rodriguez III, Mia Rose Rodriguez, Alejandro R. Gutierrez; brothers, Roberto (Elvira) Reyes, Arturo (Isabel) Reyes, Ramiro (Juanita) Reyes; sisters-in-law, Thelma Reyes, Maria Reyes; brother-in-law, Luis De La Garza; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to her caregiver Claudia Marin, Laredo Hospice, Dr. Mateo Reyes, and her nephews, Roberto Reyes Jr. and Luis Reyes.

Pallbearers will be: Alonzo Gutierrez, Emilio "Chito" Davila, Lazaro De La Garza, Ronnie Obregon, and David Flores.
