Minerva C. Treviño
January 06, 1933- February 24, 2025
Mrs. Minerva C. Treviño, 92, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Minerva devoted her career to early childhood education, serving at a Webb County HeadStart Center as a director. In this role, she touched the lives of countless children and families, believing firmly in the importance of education as a foundation for a bright future. Her love for children extended beyond her professional life, as she was also a Girl Scout Brownie Troop Leader, fostering a sense of adventure and growth among her young students.
Minerva’s greatest joy was always her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, sharing love, wisdom, and laughter.
A talented musician, Minerva enjoyed playing the piano and found joy in teaching others to share in this musical passion. Her dedication to her faith was evident, as she was a devout Catholic, actively involved in the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of Mary Magdalene and teaching CCD classes at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
She lived a vibrant and healthy lifestyle, always prioritizing physical activity, from power walking and yoga for seniors to simple home exercises, all while maintaining a balanced diet that kept her strong and energized. A true sports enthusiast, she was a passionate cheerleader for her Texas teams, especially the Spurs and Cowboys, and nothing thrilled her more than a close game-until it was time to switch off the TV and pray for her team’s victory. She also cherished lively sessions of Lotería with friends and enjoyed playful board game afternoons with her grandchildren, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raul B. Treviño; her parents, Ascencion and Hortencia Cadena; her brothers, Francisco Javier Cadena, and Oscar Cadena.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Diana T. (Daniel) Carrillo, Raul (Juanita) Treviño, Jr., and Rogelio Treviño (Maria G. Soliz); her grandchildren, Marla Carrillo (Miguel Torres), Danny (Stephanie) Carrillo, Leticia Treviño, Lizette (Lorenzo) Cortez, Raul E. Treviño, Rogelio (Dana) Treviño, and Marisela I.
