Mike Jacaman, Jr. was called to be with our Creator and Father on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the presence of his extended family. Mr. Jacaman was the youngest of nine children born to Miguel S. Jacaman and Emilia Canahuati Jacaman.

Since early in his youth, Mike was involved in the family business, Frontier Western Wear. On April 1, 1981, he and his wife, opened Mike’s Western Wear which would become the standard in Laredo and the surrounding area for upscale men’s and women’s Western apparel. His passion was interacting with his clients and providing them with the best customer service. Mike was admired for his charisma and friendliness. For decades, the name Mike's Western Wear and fine Western clothing were synonymous. Mike was a long-time supporter of Border Olympics, LIFE Downs, LULAC in addition to other Community endeavors.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mike Jacaman, III. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Antonio, Olga, Victor, Chuck, Carmen, Joe, and Jesus Jacaman, in addition to Nasry Canahuati, brother-in-law and Mirthala Garza, mother-in-law. They were raised in the tradition of their Palestinian ancestors to be a loving Family and productive citizens.

Surviving him are his wife of 36 years Martha, daughters, Sheila (Hanspeter) Jacaman Muller and Lisa (Dr. Dennis) Jacaman Cantu; Stepchildren Myrthala Alejo (Victor Padilla), Esteban (Angie) Alejo, Andres (Lucinda) Alejo, and their children Victor Julian, Sebastian, and Raphaella Padilla, Alberto Esteban, Valeria, Mia, Annelise, and Andres A. Jr. Alejo. Surviving Sister Alicia Canahuati; Sister-in-law Fairris (Chuck) Jacaman; Brothers-in-law: Alberto, Ricardo A., Rene, Hugo F. and Daniel Ortegon. Grandchildren Sheila Y. Cardenas (Marcus IV) Barrett, Jalene Cardenas, Enrique Cardenas; Roberto (Sonia) Laurel Jr., Cristelle Laurel, Andria Laurel (Julian) Botello in addition to 5 great-grandchildren, Robert Michael, Sergio Alonzo, Roman Sebastian Laurel, Laura Isabella Barrett, and Giuliana Victoria Botello. Nieces and nephews include Linda (Buddy) Bruni, Chuck (Rocio) Jacaman, Robert (Veronica) Jacaman, Denise Jacaman, Tracy (Honore) Ligarde, Elizabeth (Leon+) Dumas, Mike (Rosemary) Canahuati, William Canahuati (Maria Del Carmen) and Nasry Canahuati

The family extends an everlasting Thank You to Dr. Dennis Cantu, Dr. Joseph Camero and the caring, attentive and well-trained staff at the Laredo Medical Center ICU and Unit 2C.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, the 15th of December 2017 from 5 pm to 9 pm at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.

A Chapel service officiated by Father Nolasco Hinojosa, Jr. will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the 16th of December 2017 at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.

Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Robert J. Laurel Jr., Enrique Cardenas III, Esteban Alejo Jr., Andres A. Alejo, Chuck Jacaman Jr., Jesse Jacaman, Kerim Jacaman, and Larry Friedman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dennis D. Cantu, MD, Marcus T. Barrett IV, Ernest Bruni, Mike Canahuati, Carlos Narvaez, and Salvador Narvaez.
