MICHELLE E. HINOJOSA

December 16, 1946 – February 2, 2024

 

Michelle E. Hinojosa joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on the 2nd day, February 2024.

 

Michelle was known for her dedication to her community and many accomplishments in her career. In 1968, she became Laredo’s first female police officer with the Laredo Police Department. During her years of service, she began as a patrol officer, later promoted to Investigator, then subsequently appointed to the Crime Victims Compensation Program, a position she held for most of her career. After 48 years of dedicated service, she retired in September 2016. She will be greatly missed by her fellow officers, as well as friends and family.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Damaso and Dolores Garcia.

 

Left to cherish her memory; her son, Raul Hinojosa, II.; sisters, Claudia (Victor) Garcia, and Maria del Carmen G. Flores; and nephews, Victor Garcia Jr., and Michael Garcia; as well as numerous friends and relatives.

 

Private Funeral Services were conducted on February 7th, 2024 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment was held at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

The Pallbearers were Raul Hinojosa, II., Victor Garcia, Sr., Michael Garcia, and Roberto Garcia.

 

Honorary Pallbearers were Lucy Contreras, Patsy Gomez, and Joel Gomez.
