On the morning of Thursday, June 2, 2016 our beloved Mr. Merced Johnson, Jr. passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home in Laredo, Texas. Merced was 76 years old.

Merced Johnson, Jr. was born on Wednesday, May 15, 1940 in Laredo, Texas to Merced Johnson, Sr. and Teresa S. Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was raised in Mirando City, Texas and lived most of his life in Laredo, Texas. He was well known for being a hardworking and savvy business man. He worked and supported his family as an insurance and car salesman. Mr. Johnson was a very caring and compassionate man who dearly loved his family.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Merced Johnson, Sr. and Teresa S. Johnson; one son, Natividad Armando Johnson; and grandson, Domingo Johnson, Jr.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Leticia Johnson of Laredo, Texas; his children, Gabriel Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Cleo Johnson, Melissa Johnson, Claudia Johnson (Dennis) Ramos, Yanira Johnson (Peter) Farias, Arturo (Frances) Johnson, Ricardo Johnson, Denise Johnson (Ron) Manjack, Rene (Daisy) Johnson, and Alejandro Johnson; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Juan H. (Maria Isabel) Johnson, Salvador (Vicenta) Johnson, Sr., Armando (Enedina) Johnson, Domingo Johnson, Jesus G. (Rosa) Johnson, Josefina J. (Bernardo) Lopez, and Nora E. (Isidro) Martinez; as well as other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 05, 2016 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 06, 2016 departing Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel at 9:15 a.m. to St. Agnes Catholic Mission, 324 Linder St., Mirando City, Texas for a Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at the family plot at Johnson Cemetery in Magnolia Hill.
