MAURO ALFREDO TREJO
January 15, 1960- June 25, 2016
Mr. Mauro A. Trejo, 56 years of age from Laredo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
He is survived by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Jose R. and Emma V. Trejo; sons: Mauro Jr., Richard, John and one daughter: Tracy; brothers and sisters: Eddie, Joe, Demetrio, Lilia, Emma, Cutberto, Ricardo +, Gerardo, Juan Jose and Angelica. In addition, he is further survived by nephews, nieces, brothers & sisters-in-law, and other loving relatives and friends.
Mauro graduated from Nixon High School. He joined the ROTC and was a Cross Country runner as well as Track & Country Field 800 meter runner during his high school years. He then moved and resided in California for almost a decade before returning back to Texas.
While residing in California Mauro was once challenged by a brother in 1991 to run The Long Beach Marathon 26.2 miles. Mauro's other interests included watching segments of The National Geographic and History Channel; although, going fishing and having barbecues were his favorite pastime. He had a great sense of humor and always joking with family and friends.
Mauro had been struggling with several illnesses for some time. During his final years of life, he became at peace with God and with himself, which attributed this to Father Vincent of Temple, Texas and Mr. & Mrs. Juan Zamarripa of Laredo, Texas, people whom he always looked forward to their next phone call or home visit. He will be missed.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, July 01, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 02, 2016 from Joe Jackson Heights to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow attheCalvary Catholic Cemetery next to his brother Ricardo Trejo.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Trejo, Demetrio Trejo, Cutberto Trejo, Ricardo Trejo Jr., Gerardo Trejo, Juan Jose Trejo, Benjamin Bassett, Frederick Bassett, Richard Trejo, John Trejo and Centino Mathias.
