MARY CRUZ VELA

February 22, 1954 – September 03, 2020

Mary Cruz Vela, 66, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven by our Lord on Thursday, September 03, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Domingo F. Vela; son, Domingo F. Vela, Jr.; and sister, Sara Soto Jimenez.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her loving children, Debbie Ann (Richard) Vela, Anthony (Antonia) Vela, Mark Anthony Vela, Javier Vela, Veronica (Emmanuel) Vela, Ana Alicia (Samuel) Villegas, Michael (Sylvia) Vela, Aurora (Gil) Hernandez, Domingo Francisco Vela, and Alma Leticia Maldonado; 28 adored grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers and sister, Tony (Eva) Soto, Ernesto Soto, Charlie Soto, Josefina (Jorge) Padron, and Juan (Guadalupe) Soto as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, September 09, 2020 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning, September 10, 2020 departing at 8 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tony Vela, Javier Vela, Samuel Villegas, Gil Hernández, Michael Vela, Dominique Rodríguez, Félix Herrera, and Manuel Grajeda.
