As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and educator, Marina had a tremendous impact on a great number of lives. Marina graduated from Martin High School and attended Laredo Jr. College. She then chose a career in education and set a path for her sisters to follow by attending Texas Women's University where she was a model student and earned a degree in Elementary Education. During her years there she made lifelong friends, joined a sorority and later with her circle of friends formed a birthday club. After graduation she returned to Laredo to teach elementary school with both schools districts in Laredo. It was during her first years as a teacher she met and married, Homero Adame her husband of 48 years. They started a family and enjoyed traveling extensively into Mexico, always proud of their roots. Marina impressed on their children a great love of learning, family values, a sense of true passion for work and always striving for fairness, pride and love of God. When their children grew older, Marina and Homero continued to travel and enjoyed life to its fullest. Marina retired after teaching for 38 years to fully enjoy her later years, family, and especially her beloved grandchildren. During her younger years and as an adult she was an active member of her Church. Her strong faith and devotion always carried her though and helped her in difficult times. Marina enjoyed attending a variety of dance classes in her youth and again in her later years. She also was an accomplished artist painting quite a number of fine works of art. Both Marina and Homero enjoyed the leisure time at their ranch and weekends with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roman and Maria Ibarra; and her son, Robert J.
