MARILYN MAPUS September 02, 1931 - July 22, 2014 Marilyn Lemoine Mapus, 82, a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Marilyn was born September 2, 1931, in Laredo to William J. and Ruby Lemoine. She graduated from Martin High School and received a B.S. from Southwest Texas State University. She taught in the Laredo Independent School District for many years until her retirement. After her retirement, she worked for many years besides her husband in his local business. Marilyn was devoted to her husband and family and was known for her love of her yard and flowers. She is preceded in death by both her parents and her husband of 49 years, George R. Mapus Sr. She is survived by her children: Linda Mapus Perkins and her husband Stephen Perkins of Marion Tx, Gail Mapus and Tracy Mapus of San Antonio, Tx , her devoted son George R. Mapus Jr. of Laredo, Tx, her brother William J. Lemoine Jr. of Boerne, Tx, grandchildren Thomas, George and Melissa Perkins of Marion, Tx, and nephews and a neice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Prayer service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. A Chapel service officiated by Pastor Paul Harris will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. Entombment will then follow to the Mausoleum at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the funeral service professionals at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041; (956) 722-8850.
