MARICELA BENAVIDES

April 17, 1956-November 14, 2023

Maricela Benavides, 67, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Maricela was an active member of Iglesia El Salvador A/G, a Sunday School teacher for many years, and also enjoyed singing to the Lord in the praise and worship team. She worked for over forty years with the Webb County Community Action Agency as an Executive Administrative Assistant until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Francisco Benavides and Blanca E. Benavides; and brother, Mario Alberto Benavides.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, San Juanita (Victor Manuel) Mendoza, Maria del Refugio (Antonio) Rivera, Blanca E. (Matias) Buentello, and Leticia Benavides.  She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, November 16, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Chapel service will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, November 17, 2023 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Iglesia El Salvador, 4117 Main Ave., Laredo, TX 78041, for a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Victor Manuel Mendoza, Jr., Abdiel Rivera, Justin Buentello, Victor Manuel Mendoza, Sr., Antonio Rivera, and Matias Buentello.
