Maria Zuniga

Mrs. Maria Ines Zuniga, age 78, entered into God’s kingdom during the early hours of Tuesday the 3rd of May 2017. She leaves behind many great memories as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was lovingly known as “Nana” to all who knew her. She was self-giving putting everyone’s needs before hers.

Maria Ines was employed and retired from Laredo Community College as a bookkeeper. Her legacy continues in the family and extended family who mourn and celebrate her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Ernesto Roberto Zuniga; parents: Nemecio and Carmen Hernandez; sister: Irma Hernandez.

Maria Ines Zuniga; children: Ernesto “Bobby” Roberto (Sara Alicia) Zuniga, Jr., Graciela (Roberto) Garza, Cynthia (Joe Ruiz) Zuniga; grandchildren: Ernesto Roberto (Raquel) Zuniga III, Daniel Andres (Evelyn) Zuniga, Alejandro Alberto Zuniga, Gabriela Ines Zuniga, Ashley E. Garza, Amanda E. Garza, Alyssa E. Garza, Sophia B. Ruiz; great-grandchildren: Arlette Zuniga, Daniel Zuniga, Jr., Ernesto Zuniga IV; in-laws: Juanita (Juan) Castillo; along with nieces: Melissa Herrera, Marissa (Juan) Ramos; nephew: Mario A. (Dalia) Castillo, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral and Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening of Friday the 5th of May 2017; a Rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral procession will depart on Saturday the 6th of May at 8:40 in the morning to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ernesto Roberto Zuniga III, Daniel Andres Zuniga, Alejandro Alberto Zuniga, Mario Alberto Castillo, Jacob Anthony Ramirez, and Alvaro Manuel Guel.
