Maria Teresa Hinojosa, devoted mother and grandmother passed away peacefully May 15, 2021 at home with loved ones. She was born February 8, 1929 in Laredo, Texas. She married her love, Gilberto Hinojosa on July 29, 1959. Maria Teresa loved sewing, caring for her birds, and spending time with her family. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Romans 12:10 “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves”. Maria Teresa is survived by her son and daughter, Gilberto and Rachel, daughter in law Susana, grandchildren Linda, Gabriel, and Valerie, and great grandchildren Jacob, Rachel, Hunter, Benjamin, and Holden. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gilberto B. Hinojosa; siblings: Guadalupe Sanchez-Martinez, Alvaro Sanchez, Armando Sanchez, and Jose Sanchez.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered for the repose of her soul at 7 p.m.
Funeral procession will depart at 8:50 a.m. on Friday morning, May 21, 2021 to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Gilberto Hinojosa, Gabriel Rodriguez, Gonzalo Olivarez, Raul Martinez Jr., Raul Martinez III, and Eduardo Martinez.
