Maria Luisa was born May 29, 1941 in Laredo, TX to Ambrosio Jr. and Maria Del Socorro Vela. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jose Javier Ramirez, her parents Ambrosio Jr. and Maria Del Socorro Vela, her brothers Armando and Raul Vela, and her sisters Laura Vela, and Irma Trevino. She is survived by her daughter Gina (Hugo) Sanchez, her son Maj. Gabriel (Marcia) Ramirez, her grandson Alejandro Sanchez, her sister Elena Vela, and her brothers Alberto (Irma) Vela, Alfredo (Rosie) Vela and much loved family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary for the Deceased will commence at 6pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday morning, March 06, 2015 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
