Maria G. Prado
August 12, 1923 – January 29, 2019
Maria G. Prado, 95, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
Maria G. Prado attended Martin High School and graduated class of 1941. Her favorite subject was English grammar and she studied Stenography. She enjoyed working Monday through Friday and on the weekends she went to Yolanda’s Beauty Shop followed by lunch and shopping in Laredo. Maria loved taking care of her house, her rosales, watching novelas, listening to musica Mexicana and spending time with her daughter Imelda. She believed in punctuality, a woman’s right to work, vote and contribute income to a household.
She was preceded in death by her husband Enrique Prado; daughter Irma P. Castillo; parents, Hipolito and Cleotilde Gonzalez; brothers, Hipolito Gonzalez, Jr., Juan Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez; and sister Aurora G. Elizondo.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Imelda P. (Hector) Garza, Irene P. (Jose +) Madrigal; grandchildren, Roberto Castillo, Jr., Michelle (Ramon) Garcia, Maritza Gil, Liana Marie (Jesus +) Lopez, Kristina Jo (Javier +) Vasquez, Jassie Rios; and 14 great-grandchildren.
