Maria Sanchez

Maria Oralia Sanchez, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 20, 2011. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Maria Oralia was a spiritual woman, who loved and enjoyed music. She was born in Utley, Texas and raised in San Ygnacio, Texas but she lived most of her life in Laredo, Texas with the man she loved. After her beloved husband, Jose S. Sanchez, passed away she then moved to Zapata, Texas to be with her daughter Maria Blanca Lopez. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Salvador Sanchez; her parents, Ramon and Maria Blanca Gutierrez; her brothers, Osvaldo Gutierrez, Jose Horacio Gutierrez, Adonaldo Gutierrez; and her great-grandson Baby Joshua Ismael Leal II.

Maria Oralia is survived by her sons, Jose Salvador (Mary) Sanchez Jr., Eugenio (Cindy) Sanchez; daughters, Maria del Socorro (Ricardo) Contreras, Maria Blanca (Eloy) Lopez, Teresita de Jesus (Rafael) Benavides; sisters, Elvia G. (Andres) Salas, Adela G. (Luis+) Reyes; brother, Arturo (Rosalinda) Gutierrez; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanchez is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous relatives.

The family would like to send their outmost and sincere gratitude to Maria de la Luz "Lucero" Quintanilla, her sister Adela G. Reyes, Dr. Idelfonso Flores and Staff, Dr. Eduardo Miranda and Staff, Champion Care Services Staff, and Nurses on Wheels Staff for the attention and special dedication they showed to our mother Maria Oralia.
