Maria Espinoza

Maria L. Espinoza, 77, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Maria was born on November 7, 1936 in Laredo, Texas to Enrique and Belen Fuentes, Sr. Maria graduated from Martin High School in 1955, and worked for Woolworth Retail for 38 years. She was a beloved wife, happily married for 47 years, great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Maria is preceded in death by her parents: Enrique and Belen Fuentes, Sr., sisters: Graciela Cortez, Delia Fuentes; brother: Gustavo Fuentes; nieces: Cindy Villarreal, and Dinorah Fuentes. She is survived by her loving husband: Salvador Espinoza; children: Jesus (Cindy) Espinoza, Rosa (Roberto) Ramon, Lilia V. (Jose Luis, Jr.) Cardenas, Salvador H. Espinoza (Mary Riojas); step-children: Maria Antonia (Nelson) Taboada, and Salvador Espinoza; 12 grandchildren: Krissy, Jesse, Stephanie, Robert, Roselyn, Roshell, Little Joe, Melinda, Chris, Issai, Nicky, Bella; and great-grandson: Noah; sister: Ernestina (Jose) Carrizales; brothers: Enrique (Josefa) Fuentes, Jr., and Mario Fuentes. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring @ Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 24, 2014 departing from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
