MARIA DE LOURDES “MARILU” MARTINEZ

December 19, 1964 – April 01, 2017

Maria De Lourdes “Marilu” Martinez, 52, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 01, 2017. She was born on December 19, 1964 in Laredo, Texas and lived in San Antonio, Texas most of her life. Marilu graduated from Winston Churchill High School and worked as a medical transcriber until she was no longer able to, due to her illness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sinesio Martinez Jr.; paternal grandparents, Sinesio Martinez and Maria De La Paz Martinez; maternal grandparents, Ovidio Ortiz Sr. and Carmen S. Ortiz; as well as numerous uncles and aunts.

Marilu is survived by her mother, Carmen O. Martinez; brother, Sinesio (Rose) Martinez III; and nephew, Sinesio Mathew Martinez. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Marilu will be missed dearly and remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at 5 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Porter Loring on McCullough, San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will held on Thursday morning, April 06, 2017 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd.

Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will then follow to the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Sinesio Martinez III, Sinesio Mathew Martinez, Javier Trevino, Javier Trevino Jr., Arturo R. Ortiz, Ramiro Ortiz Jr., Marion McClelland, and Edward Dancause.
