Maria Del Socorro Dovalina passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, at the age of 96.
As a member of Holy Redeemer Church, she was a devout Catholic, Socorrito dedicated 39 years of her life working as a Fabric Salesperson at La Dama Elegante. Outside of work, Socorrito found joy in tending to her garden, watching Mexican soap operas, known as "Novelas," and exploring new destinations through travel, and cherished the simple moments spent with friends over coffee. Her devotion to her Catholic faith was unwavering, and she found solace and community in her church.
In her leisure time, Maria frequented the Catholic Charities Diocese of Laredo Senior Center, where she shared laughter and camaraderie with friends, further enriching her life with meaningful connections. She was a loving mother to her children, and took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren showering them with affection and wisdom. Socorrito’s selfless nature was exemplified in her annual savings for her children's Christmas gifts through the Bank Christmas Club, demonstrating her enduring love and thoughtfulness.
May Socorrito Dovalina rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light that she shared so freely with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fructoso Garcia and Maria del Pilar Garcia.
