MARIA CAVAZOS GUTIERREZ

FEBRUARY 28, 1928 – NOVEMBER 12, 2020

Mrs. Maria C. Gutierrez, 92, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2020 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  She leaves behind a great and lasting legacy in all those whose life she touched.  May her memory forever be a blessing upon all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolando Gutierrez-Garza; Children: Teresa de Jesus, Maria del Refugio and Mario Ernesto Gutiérrez;  Granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Cappelle; Mother, Juana Garza-Rocha; Brothers: Miguel V. Garza and Juan Rene Garza.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children:  Ana Maria (Juan) Becerra, Nora Elia (David) Cappelle, Raquel Cook, Rolando (Maria Antonietta) Gutierrez; 16 adored grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren;  5 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Irma (Juan) Garcia, Maria del Carmen (Manuel) Diaz, Jose Angel Rocha, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maria was a wonderful mother, daughter, wife and friend...

She made her children feel loved and safe, she cooked their meals, sewed their clothes, and provided them with a happy home.   As adults, she listened to their troubles, advised and offered assistance as she could provide.   In her old age, she forgot most people and most things, yet she didn't forget how to hold a hand, to smile, to kiss, and to laugh.

Knowing Maria’s caring nature and the current health concerns in our community, the family is holding private funeral and interment services. We kindly invite you to join us through live stream Friday, Nov 20, 2020 starting at 5:00 pm, provided by Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Services. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

**Due to COVID-19 protocols, the funeral home capacity is limited for your safety and that of the family and friends.  Face coverings/masks are required while inside the funeral home and cemetery. You may extend your condolences or sign the electronic registry on our website as well as join with the family via the electronic transmission of the Rosary and Funeral Service**

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 departing at 10:00 a.m. to the family plot at the Laredo City Cemetery.
