April 09, 1950 – February 13, 2022

Maria De Los Angeles Benavides, 71, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Maria was born in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico on April 9th, 1950 to parents David and Consuelo Ybañez. She met and marred the love of her life, Agustin Benavides on May 6th, 1972 and together made their home and their family. Maria will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Agustín Benavides; parents, David and Consuelo Ybañez; mother-in-law, Hortencia Benavides; and siblings Ricardo Ybañez, Alma L. Cantú, Eleazar Ybañez, and Julia Ybañez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marta Dalia (Guadalupe III) Ceja and Agustín (Rosa Isela Zavala) Benavides; grandchildren, Khloe Ceja, Alexis Benavides, Alberto (Jackie Lozano) Benavides, Aleida (Luis Lara) Zavala, and Joselyne (Julio Rangel) Delgado; and great-grandchildren, Gerardo Ruiz, III, Janely Rose Ruiz, and Julio Rangel, Jr. She is further survived by her siblings, Gladys Noemi Ybañez, Irasema (Diego Rodríguez) Guerra, Rosa Nelia Ibarra, Consuelo (Rogelio) Ramos, Omar (Elena) Ybañez, San Juana Rivera, Aurora (Abel) Caldera, Maria Elena García, and Narce Dalia Ybañez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, February 17, 2022 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, February 18, 2022 departing at 10 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Agustin Benavides, Jr., Guadalupe Ceja, III, Alberto Benavides, Alexis Benavides, Julio C. Rangel, Luis Lara, Humberto Zavala, and Diego Rodriguez.
