MARIA ANTONIETA GUTIERREZ
Mrs. Maria Antonieta Gutierrez passed away peacefully on December 12, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 6, 1921 to Modesto and Petra Gutierrez. Laredo was her home for her entire life. She married Jose E. Gutierrez on June 10, 1941 and together they raised their daughters Yolanda Gutierrez (Hector G. ) Garcia and Patricia G. Guajardo (Daniel B. Ryan). For many years she enjoyed gardening and baking, but most of all she loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and her siblings, Elvira G. Garcia, Consuelo G. Ancira, Eva G. Guerra, Isauro Gutierrez, Constantino Gutierrez, Edelmiro Gutierrez, and her eldest great-grandchild, Mercurio Martinez IV.
She is survived by her daughters and her grandchildren Judy G. (Mercurio III) Martinez, Hector G. (Evelyn Sames) Garcia, Jose E. (Cynthia Vela) Garcia, Erika G. (Christopher) Haynes and Luis Emmanuel Guajardo.
She will be missed dearly by her great grandchildren, Milan David Martinez, Moises Cristobal Martinez, Jose Alejandro Garcia, Katarina Garcia, Jose Diego Garcia, Liam Anderson Haynes, Mila Fernanda Garcia, Luke Michael Haynes, Joaquin Eduardo Garcia and Thomas Elias Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez.
Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 10 a.m. to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow the mass at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Hector Guillermo Garcia, Jose Eduardo Garcia, Luis Emmanuel Guajardo, Christopher Michael Haynes, Richard Edward Haynes, II, Mercurio Martinez, III, Milan David Martinez, and Moises Cristobal Martinez.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Retama Manor South for the compassionate care they afforded Mrs. Gutierrez and for sharing funny stories with the family of their relationship with her.
