MARGARITO E. GUERRA, SR. DECEMBER 18, 1931 - NOVEMBER 13, 2015 Margarito E. Guerra, Sr., a trusted and respected Laredo businessman died early Friday, November 13, 2015. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. After graduating from Martin High School, Mr. Guerra attended the University of Texas where he received his degree in engineering. He was stationed at White Sands, New Mexico during his service in the U.S. Army, and he worked for Lockheed before returning to Laredo to join the family enterprise Laredo Motor Mart. Mr. Guerra served the auto parts needs of the community for many years as owner of Guerra Parts Service located at 1501 San Bernardo. Mr. Guerra is remembered for his exemplary work ethic, honesty, and integrity. A man who embodied "to everything there is a season" he is also remembered for his love of dance and travel. Members of all ages of his family tell of "dancing with Marky." He is also remembered as the family's historian, recounting the many centuries of his ancestors in the new world. He is a direct descendant of the founder of Laredo, Tomas Sanchez, as well as a member of the Guerra-Caamar clan and a direct descendant of the founder of Revilla and Los Ojuelos. Mr. Guerra is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Guerra, Sr. and Herminia Garcia Guerra; siblings, Guillermo Guerra and Maya Guerra; father and mother in law, Enrique and Rosa Ofelia M. Ortega. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosalinda Ortega Guerra; children, Alberto, Margarito, Anna, Rosalinda, Albertito, and Andres; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces; his siblings, Alberto (Beatrice) Guerra, Graciela (Guillermo ) Alarcon, Sylvia Rodriguez, and Adriana (David) Duncan. He will be greatly missed. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
