AUGUST 21, 1919 – FEBRUARY 29, 2020

Our gracious and loving God, called our beloved Margarita I. Alonzo into her eternal rest at the tender age of 100, having been surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Francisco R. Alonzo; parents: Ramon and Isabel Ibarra; siblings: Raul (Luisa) Ibarra, Jose (Sara) Ibarra, Alberto (Guadalupe) Ibarra, Virginia (Jose) Alonzo and Maria Luisa (Daniel) Benavidez; nephews: Jose Ramon (Beatriz) Ibarra, Eduardo A. Ibarra; nieces: Olivia I. (Irineo) Escobedo, Eliza I. Rodriguez.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son: Gerardo (Abigail) Alonzo Sr.; grandchildren: Gerardo (Monica) Alonzo Jr.; Angela K. (Salvador de Llano) Alonzo; Jennifer D. (Joey) De Leon, Joe M. (Deanna) Butcher; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Daniel (Diana) Benavidez, Ofelia I. (Hector +) Quiroz, Ricardo (Carol) Ibarra, Maria Elena Ibarra, Elvira (Tom) Fitzgerald, Olga Ibarra, Conrado Rodriguez, Maria D. Alonzo as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to her devoted caretakers Norma Salazar, and Isabel Gonzalez Villanueva.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning, March 5, 2020 departing at 8 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors being rendered by the US Navy and the American Legion Post 59.


Pallbearers will be: Daniel Benavidez Jr., Gerardo Alonzo Jr., David Chavez, Gerardo Alonzo III, Daniel “DJ” Benavidez and Joe Moses Butcher.
