Margaret Wright

February 2, 1926 — December 13, 2018

Margaret Wheeler Wright known to her friends as Peggy left us to be with her husband, Bill, on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the age of 92.

Born in the small port town of Callao outside of Lima, Peru, she spent her childhood in the Andes Mountains with her father, a mining engineer. She joined the U.S. State Department and was transferred to the consulate in Nuevo Laredo where she met her husband William Wright, an Asst. District Attorney in Laredo, Texas. In 1963 the family moved out to the family ranch north of Laredo, where she would spend the next 40 years ranching, raising a family, and hosting nieces, nephews, and friends who all called the ranch their home at some point in their lives. In her later years she moved to Laredo and enjoyed her role as hostess for family parties. She will be missed by all.

Peggy was predeceased by her sisters, Marion Wheeler, Tenni Rosell, and Melita de Orbegoso.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ralph (Camu), and Frank (Monica), her grandchildren, William (Naomi), Stephanie, Thomas and David as well as her great-grandchild Micah.

The family appreciates the medical care of: Dr. Zuniga Goldwater and Dr. Robert Hudson; their compassion will always be remembered. Peggy’s last years were made comfortable by the loving care of Rogelio Huerta and Martina Vargas.

A Funeral Service in memory of Peggy will be held on Friday evening, December 21, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, December 22, 2018 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
