Mr. Marcelo Salinas, 92, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 surrounded by his family. Mr. Salinas was a loving, compassionate, hardworking husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Gloria Salinas; daughter, San Juanita Ortiz; parents, Sarita Garcia Salinas and Isaac Salinas Olivares; siblings: Manuela Garcia, Chavela Shaver, Rufina Reno, Antonia Reyna, Frank Salinas, Sara Peña, Miguel Salinas and Gregorio Salinas.
Left to cherish his memory are: daughter, Gloria (Dr. Luis) Benavides; son-in-law, Mike (Mary Jane) Ortiz; grandchildren: Michael (Syndi) Ortiz, Tami (David) Vasquez, Jacqueline (Juan) Garza, Candice (Bobby) Bunney, Luis D. (Heather) Benavides and Omar (Norma) Benavides. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren: Marcelo Vasquez, Javier Vasquez, Juliana Vasquez, Jada Garza, Jordan Garza, Josiah Garza, Adam Bunney, Viviana Bunney, Gabriela Benavides, Lucas Benavides, Dante Rodriguez, Autumn Molina; siblings: Ysidro (Carol) Salinas, Homero (Blanca) Salinas and Ramona (Homero) Galindo. As well as by numerous loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, October 04, 2019 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m. recited by Father Hector Flores.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, October 05, 2019 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Premont, Texas for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. officiated by Father John Ouellette.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Premont Cemetery in Premont, Texas.
Pallbearers will be: Luis Daniel Benavides Jr., Omar Benavides, Charles Brunner, Robery Bunney, Juan Garza, Michael Ortiz, Mike Ortiz and David Vasquez.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Olga Sanchez and Nurses on Wheels Hospice for the loving care they provided during his time of illness.
