Madeleine Villarreal died peacefully and entered into the loving embrace of our lord, Jesus, on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the age of 90. She is home.
Madeleine Villarreal (Jacquot) formerly from Paris, France, met her future husband Juan Villarreal shortly after the end of World War II, fell in love and after an extended long distance courtship got married in 1949 and moved to Texas to start a new life.
She was a CCD Coordinator and a Lay Eucharistic Minister for many years at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She loved and was dedicated to her Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan Villarreal, Jr.; her parents, Auguste and Lucie Jacquot; her two brothers, Auguste, Jr., and Lucien; and great-grandson David Haas.
She is survived by her three sons and a daughter, Daniel (Dolores) Villarreal of Laredo; Richard (Sandra) Villarreal of San Antonio, Texas; Michel (Cathy) Villarreal of Arlington, Texas; and Christina Villarreal of Laredo, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; among other numerous loving relatives and friends.
The family expresses a special thanks to her caretakers, Christina, daughter; Jennifer Villarreal, grand-daughter; and Lupita Lozano. Also, a special love and gratitude to her long time caregiver, Maria Martinez Lopez.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, from 5 to 9 in the evening at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be: Daniel Villarreal, Richard Villarreal, Michel Villarreal, Christina Villarreal, Arturo Villarreal, Enrique Villarreal, and Jennifer Villarreal.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
