LUIS TORRES

August 25, 1938 – August 4, 2017

Luis Torres, 78, was called home by our Abba Father on Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home in San Antonio Tx. He was born in Laredo TX on August 25, 1938 to his loving parents who are preceded in death Pedro and Santos Torres. He is survived by his beautiful bride Gloria A. Torres of 55 years. Together they were blessed by 5 surviving children Luis Torres Jr., Teresa (Michael G.) Petit, Veronica (Greg M.) Martinez, Jose R. (Mary) Torres and Tomas (Heidi) Torres. He was a man of faith who believed in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who died for our sins. He not only served his family but also his country for 30 years in the United States Air Force.

He has 13 wonderful grandchildren : Cynthia A. Torres, Daniella L. Torres; Michael G. Petit Jr, Angelina M. Contreras, Gloria B. Petit, Natalia F. Contreras, Matthew T. Petit; Anjelica M. Rodriguez, Vanessa E. Bartlett; Jose R. Torres Jr., Joshua A. Torres; Andie L. Torres, Erik S. Torres.

He has 9 precious great grandchildren: Ezra A. Vallejo , Jeremiah B. De La Cruz; Joseph R. Contreras, Sophia J. Contreras; Hailey L. Rodriguez, Dean P. Rodriguez; Jaris R. Sledge, Erin P. Bartlett; Ariana E. Torres.

His siblings preceded in death are Juan Torres, Guadalupe Maldonado, Victor Torres, and Pedro Torres Jr.

His precious surviving siblings are Carmen Duarte and Ofelia Rodriguez. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, and family friends.

The Lord will never leave you nor forsake you Daddy! We love you and miss you ….

A visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Rosary will commence at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will immediately follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
