Upon leaving Greyhound, Mr. Gutierrez worked for several years at Gordon’s Jewelers. Throughout his life, Mr. Gutierrez became involved in several community organizations, both social and educative. He was an active member of the Laredo Evening Lions International Club for several years, member and President of the Toastmaster’s International Club, member and President of the Martin High School Band Parents Association, member and President of the Macdonell School PTA, member and President of the LJ Christen School PTA, participated in activities of Co-Op (Adoptive Parent Association), and for several years helped to coordinate the entertainment portion of the HEB Thanksgiving Feast of Sharing.
