Mrs. Lucy Hein Solomon, 91, passed away December 24th in Payson, Utah.
Lucy and her twin sister Mary, the youngest of 9 siblings, were born on October 30, 1926 in Laredo, Texas, to Henry Hein Jr. and Luz Almaraz Hein. She leaves behind her daughters Joyce Wiley (Craig), and Janice Ramirez (Tony) and her son-in-law, Mark Masterpool (Susan). She is also survived by her brother Robert Hein, and her grandchildren Eric Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez (Silvia), Joseph Masterpool, Tracy Wiley, Chase Wiley, John Masterpool, Katie Newsom (Keegan) and 6 great grandchildren Kinley, Dylan, Brittyn, Cadence, Madison, and Garin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel N. Solomon, her daughter Patricia Solomon Masterpool, her brothers August Oscar Hein, James Hein, and Gus Hein, and her sisters Lillian Salinas, Ethel Hein, Mabel Hein and her twin sister Mary Miller.
Our mother was a loving and caring person and touched many lives with her warmth, love, and generosity. She loved life and people. She had a heart of gold and was always quick to help others in any way that she could. She leaves behind many close friends. She enjoyed going to the ranch and parties and gatherings with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and reading. In her later years she was a fan of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Dancing With the Stars.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel located at 719 Loring at Cortez, Laredo, Texas.
Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 9:40 a.m. to St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday, January 5th, 2018 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Chase Wiley, Eric Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez, Joseph Masterpool, John Masterpool, and John Miller.
Arrangements in Utah are under the care and direction of Wheeler Mortuary; local arrangements have been entrusted to the directors and staff at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez, Laredo, TX 78040, 956.722.0001
