Our Lord opened his arms and received his child, Lucia Gaona Molina. She was born on January 26, 1927, and died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 in San Antonio. When Lucia was an infant, she was adopted by the Gaona family in Laredo, Texas. Lucia was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Molina; biological parents Genaro and Margarita Ramirez; adoptive parents Francisco and Angelita Gaona; and sister Irene Paredes. It was in Laredo where Lucia met and married her husband. She was a devoted wife and mother, and together they raised a beautiful family of nine children who survive her: Vicente (Vickie) Molina, Luis (Rosie) Molina, Margie (Arturo) Jacinto, Leticia (Juan) Verastigui, Josie (Juan) Martinez, Sergio J. (Dinny) Molina, Gelina (Jesse) Flores, Jerry (Betha) Molina, and Christina (Mario) Flores. She is also survived by one brother, Antonio Ramirez, sisters-in-law: Consuelo Molina and Melida Molina. Lucia dearly loved her 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Lucia and her husband were owners of the Molina Garage on Zapata Highway in Laredo. She worked for the Laredo I.S.D. for 14 years. Soon after retiring, Lucia and her husband moved to San Antonio where they lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Arturo Jacinto. While living in San Antonio, Lucia was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and attended the Senior Center where she loved to play bingo and made many friends. She also loved to watch novelas on television. On behalf of the Molina family a special thanks to Rebecca Perez for her help and devotion to Lucia these last few months.
