Linda Jane Snow
April 23, 1941 to July 2, 2023
Linda Jane Snow (Tia Linda), was 82 when she joined our Lord peacefully on July 2, 2023. Linda loved and lived her faith. She loved her family, her church, music, and travel. She was a wonderful entertainer and cooked, arranged flowers, and decorated for each season. Linda lived most of her adult life in San Antonio and cherishes her friends, students and co-workers.
She graduated from Martin High School in 1959 and the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education in 1964. She also completed her Certificate to teach drama at Texas Tech University. She also furthered her career by studying Orff music education, Kodaly music method, and the Phyllis Weikert method of rhythmic music. She taught elementary music in Dallas where she also played the lead in “Oklahoma” in Dallas Little Theater. Linda taught drama at San Marcos High School. San Antonio became her home where she taught elementary music for over 25 years at SAISD and NEISD. At NEISD, she taught over 20 years at Hidden Forest Elementary School. Linda was active in her church choir and worked with the children’s music programs.
Linda was a true patriot of the United States and helped with political campaigns each year, local, state, and national.
Linda became a Prayer Leader with the West Texas Diocese of the Episcopal church and was active with this group and other church prayer teams. She served on multiple Mission trips to Honduras, Guatemala and Russia. She was also active and faithful in her Bible Study Fellowship Group. First Baptist Church became her church home during the last four years of her life spent in Laredo and she was active in reaching out to her church family and families in her neighborhood. She loved reconnecting with people from her early life in Laredo and kept in touch faithfully with friends she made along her life’s path.
She was lovingly cared for by Elida, Marisol, Sonia, Sandra, Judy, and April whom she loved. She was also lovingly cared for by Dr. Jose R. Garcia, Isabel, and his amazing staff.
She is preceded in death by her parents, C.D. Snow and Hazel Delaney Snow, her nephew Amber M. Yeary III and her great nephew Amber M. Yeary IV.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Sharon (Amber) Yeary II, loving nieces and nephews, Erin (Ron) Eichorst, Norma Yeary, and Caryn (Randy) Fox and great nieces and nephews, April (Lakota) Tow, Maegan Yeary, Randy K. Fox, Bailey Yeary, John Eichorst, Shelby Yeary, Violet Eichorst, and Angel Eichorst.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at First Baptist Church. Visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and the Service will be at 11:00 a.m.
