Librada Pedersen

Our Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Librada Lamar "Lala" Pedersen, died peacefully at a local hospital and joined our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 after suffering a stroke 3 years ago. She has been a resident at Regent Care Center for the last 4 months. Her family was at her side until her welcoming in heaven.

Mrs. Pedersen was a very loving and devoted mother to her children. She was a "room" mother at her children's schools. She was also a "Tiger Mom" when her son was in the Martin High School Band. She previously was a member of St. Peter's Altar Society. Mom was an excellent cook. A doting grandmother, she easily accommodated her children's and grandchildren's requests for special dishes.

Mrs. Pedersen was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Jose Gonzalez and Mrs. Baciliza Santos Gonzalez Cozad. She was also preceded in death by her eldest sister, Eloisa G. Laurel and by her brothers-in-law Isidro M. Carrillo and Sergio L. Laurel.

She is survived by her children Anthony R. Pedersen, Judy (Mark) Garza, Boye G. Pedersen Jr.; her very much loved grandchildren, Maritza (Richard) Benavides, Mark Garza Jr., and Christopher Garza; and her great-grandson Richard "Ricky" Benavides Jr.

Lala is also survived by her younger sister Gloria G. Carrillo and by her niece, nephews and other relatives and friends. We are very grateful to Tia Gloria for her endless dedication in visiting our mother daily.

The family would like to thank Dr. Luis Benavides for providing her with his utmost care. We are very appreciative of his unwavering dedication to Mrs. Pedersen and his compassionate support of the family.

And to the staff of Regent Care Center, our sincerest thank you. We extend our gratitude to the GDM Home Health staff, to South Texas Primary care who for years dedicated themselves to her care and stability. May God Bless you and always keep you in his Love.
