LEWIS WALTER WOODUL
January 07, 1939 - September 17, 2016

Lewis Walter Woodul, 77, passed away early Saturday morning September 17, 2016. Lewis Walter Woodul was a devout catholic, an amazing father, and a devoted husband.

He was born January 07, 1939 in El Paso, Texas. He proudly served his country with the United States Army, 8th Airborne Division, Military Intelligence, and jumped with the French Foreign Legion. He later attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where he earned a degree in economics. After college he married his wife of 50 years, Hedy Irene Woodul and moved to south Texas.

Lewis Walter Woodul returned to Laredo from Cotulla, Texas in 1985 where he operated Hernandez-Woodul Cattle Company for over 30 years.

If you ever had an opportunity to meet him, then you would know that his great loves were God, ranching, and jeeping… in that order.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Charles and Carmen Woodul; as well as by his wife, Hedy Irene Woodul.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Tara Marie (Ronnie) Weeks, Nathan, Cerissa, Amanda Weeks; Lewis Loy (Francine) Woodul, Kierstan Woodul; Hedy Carmella (Chris) Carroll, Walker Whitworth; Walter William (Oxana) Woodul, Walter William Woodul II, Kseniya, Mary Ann, Catherine, Lewis Woodul, and Julia and Jacob Flores. He is further survived by his sisters, Mary Woodul (Beto) de la Fuente, Hellen, and Lisby.

We would like to thank our extended family and friends and all that knew Lewis Walter Woodul for their prayers and support during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Children's Home, 3310 S. Zapata Hwy, Laredo, Texas 78046 in honor of his and his wife's incredible love for children.

A Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. officiated by Rev. Monsignor James Harris.
