LEOPOLDO SANCHEZ

April 08, 1934 – May 25, 2023

Leopoldo Sanchez, was welcomed with open arms into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the age of 89.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Teodoro and Guadalupe Sanchez; and by siblings: Manuela S. Reyna, Gilberto C. Sanchez, Teresa S. Herrera, Hortencia S. Alvarado, Graciela S. Govea, Guillermo Sanchez, and Gloria Armandina Sanchez. 

Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 54 yrs, Anita Sanchez; children, Claudia (Herman) Gonzales and Guillermo “Willie” Sanchez; sister, Maria de la Luz Lozano; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, June 01, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, June 02, 2023 departing at 9 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Full Military Honors will immediately follow Mass at the Church Parking Lot. Honors provided by the Laredo Veteran’s Honor Guard & presentation of the U.S. Flag by the United States Army Honor Guard.

Inurnment and Cremation Services will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: Rafael Lozano, Jorge Lozano, Joaquin Romero, Herman Gonzales, Jerry Gonzalez, Robert Huron, Augie Salinas and Dickie Salinas.  

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mike Reyna, Oscar Govea, Homer Alvarado, and Emilio Gonzalez. 

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff, administration and medical director, Dr. Carlos Casas, of Laredo South Nursing and Rehabilitation and the nurses of Nurses on Wheels for their care and support.
