Karina Villarreal

October 25, 1982 — August 29, 2015

KARINA M. VILLARREAL October 25, 1982 - August 29, 2015 "Karina whom we have loved and lost and is no longer where she was before; now she is wherever we are and wherever we may go" St. John Chrysostom. Karina Montemayor Villarreal, so full of life and beauty and so very brilliant, was the sort of guest one was never anxious to have leave. And yet, on the morning of August 29th, Karina left us all - unexpectedly, and far, far too soon. Karina was kind and strong, and fierce in her love for her daughters and her husband. Quick to laugh, she shared her smile and her easy grace with her many friends and her family, as well as with the students at St. Augustine Elementary whom she loved dearly. A wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a teacher and a friend, Karina never gave those of us fortunate enough to know her cause to doubt whether we were loved; her heart was open and full and boundless. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Antonio Velazquez, her great-grandmothers, Ofelia Meza and Evangelina Rivas and her sister-in-law, Clemen Patricia Rocha Bell. She is survived by her loving husband Ricardo M. Villarreal, her two daughters Lauren Olivia and Alessa Karina, her father and mother, Mario Alberto Montemayor and Ana Maria Montemayor, her sister, Carolina Montemayor, her grandmothers, Olga Herrera Meza and Connie Montemayor, as well as by her aunts and uncle, Rosario Contreras, Lillia (Oscar) Guerero and Jose Antonio (Tony) Velazquez, her mother and father-in-law, Carlos (Irma) Villarreal, her brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Rocha, Miguel A. (Gloria) Villarreal, Roberta (Max) Benham, Carlos (Dee) Villarreal Jr., her cousins, and her many friends and family. She is sorely missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 01, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral procession will depart on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
