JUVENAL HERRERA, JR.

Juvenal Herrera, Jr., 67, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 20, 2015.

Mr. Juvenal Herrera, Jr. was born on September 18, 1948 in Laredo, Texas to parents, Juvenal and Amanda Herrera, Sr. Growing up Mr. Herrera acquired a great passion for the sport of football. He played in football leagues for both the University of Monterrey and University of Houston. He was also an offensive line coach of the semiprofessional football league, Laredo Red Raiders and Laredo Brushdogs. Mr. Herrera was a 22 year retiree of Texas Department of Human Services.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lilia Maricela Herrera; his first wife, Minerva V. Herrera; parents, Juvenal and Amanda Herrera, Sr.; and his sister, Evangelina Herrera.

He is survived by his son Juvenal (Norma) Herrera III; daughter Karina (Daniel) Diaz; his sisters, Lucy (Stanley) Jimenez, Diana (Roberto) Gonzalez, and Maria (Raul) Garza. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
