 Julia Murillo, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on May 23, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on September 5, 1931, in Robstown, TX, Julia's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her children, and her extended family. Her home was always a welcoming haven for those in need. Her kindness, generosity, and delicious cooking will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Julia’s strength, resilience, and wisdom were evident in all aspects of her life. Her love and care for others were her defining qualities, and leaving behind a legacy of compassion and selflessness.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pedro Murillo; as well as by her brothers and sisters. 

 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pedro (Maria Elena) Murillo, Jr., Roberto (Leticia) Murillo, Norma Yolanda (Oscar, Jr.) Segovia, Arturo (Margie) Murillo, and Alma Araceli (Angel Eduardo) Cruz; her grandchildren, Pedro (Lindsay) Murillo, III., Miriam (Eric) Jackson, Dilia (Matthew) Russell, Roberto (Valeria Salas) Murillo, Cynthia L. Murillo, Karina M. (Joel Carrillo) Murillo, Isela A. (Andrew Perez) Murillo, Jorge Murillo, Oscar Segovia, III., Michael Segovia, Johnny Holloway, Arthur C. Murillo, Jose Juan Vasquez, Jr., Keara C. Cruz, and Delilah F. Cruz; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday evening, May 25, 2024 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7:30 p.m.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday morning, May 27, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Everyone attending the funeral mass is encouraged to meet at church. 

 

A private cremation will be held at a later date. 

 

Pallbearers will be: Roberto Murillo, Jr., Jorge Murillo, Oscar Segovia, III., Michael Segovia, Jose Juan Vasquez, Jr., Arthur Chad Murillo, Pedro Murillo, Jr., and Pedro Murillo, III.
