Mrs. Juanita B. Alvarado, 105, entered into rest on Friday, January 03, 2014 at her residence. She was born on February 10, 1908 to Hipolito and Vicenta Barba in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. She called Laredo home for many years. Mrs. Alvarado is preceded in death by her husband: Natividad Alvarado; parents: Hipolito and Vicenta Barba; brothers and sisters: Jesus, Cornelio, Maria Luis; nieces and nephews: Miguel Ruiz, Maria Luisa Juarez, Josefina Diaz, Bertha Olivares, Visi Sandoval, Rodolfo Ruiz, Cornelio Barba, Jr. and Danny Ruiz. She is survived by her sister: Basilia B. Ruiz; nieces and nephews, Alma (Oscar) Garcia, Jorge (Estelle) Juarez, Jesus A. (Maria Luisa) Juarez Jr., Javier (Teresa) Juarez, Dora San Miguel, Estella (Santiago ) Limon, Patsy, Abel, Abelina, Belinda, David, Sandra, Judy, Michelle, Michael, Ricky, Sandra, Chelo, Norma, Sandra, Dora, Irma, Rudy, Rogelio, Norma, Lilly, Enriqueta, Betsy (Jose L. Contreras) Garcia, Oscar (Priscilla) Garcia, Cristian Garcia and other beloved relatives and extended family. Condolences will be received on Monday, January 06, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, from 5 to 9 in the evening with the recitation of the holy Rosary at 7 that evening. The funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 9:40 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
