Juan Antonio "Tony" Gonzalez

Juan Antonio “Tony” Gonzalez, 62, of Laredo, TX passed on January 29th , 2021. He was called to join his wife and partner of 46 years shortly after her passing. Tony was born on August 31st, 1958 to Alejandro and Deanna Gonzalez in Oahu, Hawaii.

Tony was a force of nature and never steered away from hard work. He often worked multiple jobs to provide for his family. He was a jack of all trades and was known to help anyone who asked no matter the size of the job. Tony also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tony would often spend his free time collecting artifacts and antiques working on the restorations himself.

Earlier in life Tony worked in the oil and gas industry where he had the opportunity to travel abroad and throughout the United States. Upon returning to Laredo to be closer to his family, Tony took a position at the Webb County Road and Bridge Department where he retired after 20 years of service.

Tony was a loving father, brother, and friend. He touched many lives and will not be forgotten.

Tony was predeceased by his wife, Mary Louise; his parents, Alejandro, and Deanna, and his niece, Dee Dee.

He is survived by his 3 children, Tony (Valerie), Alex, and Catherine (Francisco); and grandchildren, Alexa, Jacob, Noah, and Oliva: as well as his 4 siblings, Cathy (Ricardo), Rick (Rosie), Rob, and Joe; as well as multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 8 until 11 a.m. at Joe Jackson Funeral North Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041; where a Memorial Service will commence at 11 am.

Rite of Committal & Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
