JUAN FRANCISCO BENAVIDES APRIL 22, 1931 - JUNE 11, 2015 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen" Psalm 23 Juan F. Benavides, 84, our beloved Christian father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend of many entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 11, 2015. He was a loyal and dedicated believer of God, touching the hearts of all who came in contact with him; showing an undying love to God, his family and friends. He was a professor in Mexico for many years and on June 9, 1989 he obtained his minister credentials from the Instituto Biblico Jerusalem de la Iglesia Cristiana de las Asambleas de Dios. He was a minister faithfully serving many churches and the community through visitation, prayer and preaching. He parted this life to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayer and support in many heartfelt forms from everyone. He is survived by his children, San Juanita (Victor Manuel) Mendoza, Maricela Benavides, Mario Alberto (Eva) Benavides, Maria (Antonio) Rivera, Blanca E. (Matias M., Jr.) Buentello, Leticia Benavides; grandchildren, Christine Mendoza, Victor (Sarai) Mendoza, Jr., Mario (Alana) Benavides, Jr., Priscilla Benavides, Abdiel Rivera, Abigail Rivera, Justin Buentello, Jennifer Buentello; great-grandchildren, Mario A. Benavides III, Marco Antonio Benavides; and sister Rafaela Salinas. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road from 5 to 9 in the evening. A prayer service will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Iglesia El Salvador for a service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
