Juan Antonio Cantu

Juan Antonio Cantu was born March 28, 1947 in Laredo, Texas, and was called to be with the Lord on August 11, 2024.

He is survived by his beautiful, loving wife of 46 years, Yolanda Cantu; and his children, Dyenora Reed, Gerard (Ara) Cantu, and Abraham (Liza) Cantu; as well as his nine grandchildren. 

Juan started his career in Laredo, Texas working at the Laredo National Bank and then held a managerial position at Amtrak. In 1983 he discovered his love for real estate investment and focused the remainder of his career in that field.

Juan’s passion was watching his children and grandchildren come together. He was an amazing mentor who touched many lives with his generous spirit and willingness to share his wisdom and stories. That legacy of kindness, generosity and wisdom will live on through the lives he touched. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and visionary with a heart of gold, he will be deeply missed. He is lovingly remembered by his loved ones as he enters eternal life with the Lord.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, August 15, 2024 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, August 16, 2024 at 10:40 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
