Josephine Talamas passed away on October 11, 2013. Fina was born on May 29, 1923 in Laredo, Texas, the eldest of four siblings, to Nicolas and Margarita Jacaman. She attended schools in Laredo and graduated from Martin High School in 1942. Fina and her husband George Talamas spent the early years of their marriage in Haiti where the Talamas family lived and had their businesses before returning to Laredo to raise their children. Her childrens' friends loved coming over to sample her latest creations, especially the dishes from the Middle East.
