Joseph William Gallahan, III, was born June 13, 1932 in Laredo, Texas to Amparo (Santos) and Joseph William Gallahan, Jr. He grew up in Laredo. Joe served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Baylor University.
Joe was a Deputy Director with the Texas Employment Commission for 37 years. After living 26 years in Austin, Joe moved to Milano where he attended Friendship Baptist Church near Caldwell. On September 17, 2005, he and Linda Stewart were married. Joe enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys and loved his horses.
Joe passed away Monday night, September 3, 2012 in the St. David's Hospital in Round Rock, reaching the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Martha Gallahan; son, Joseph William Gallahan; and a granddaughter, Ashlee Williams.
Survivors include; His wife, Linda Gallahan of Milano. Daughters, Marilyn McCarley and husband Everette of San Antonio, Nancy Parker and husband Herbie of Tyler, Lyndee Dickerson and husband Gary of Tulia, Suzanne Gallahan of Chapel Hill. Son, Joseph William Gallahan, IV, of Austin. Step sons, Franklin McQueen of Milano and Joseph McQueen of Milano. Sister, Rita Lynn Gallahan of Austin. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
