Josefina Garcia

Mrs. Josefina Garcia, 87, entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, January 26, 2014 surrounded by her loving and caring children and beloved family by her side. Mrs. Garcia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a devout religious woman who taught her sons the love of God and family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but we know she is in the loving arms of her heavenly Father. Surviving her are her children: Agustin Garcia, Enrique Tomas (Marissa) Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia; sister: Zaida "Chaya" (Antonio) Jasso-Sandoval; brother: Remigio Jasso; her nephews that she raised: Dulce Maria Gonzalez-Lugo and Mariano Gonzalez-Jasso. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Marissita Garcia, Quique Garcia, as well as her caring nephew and niece who called her "abuelita": Homero and Angela Lugo and many nieces, nephews, other beloved relatives and friends. Condolences will be received on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 6 to 9 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. James Harris as the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Agustin Garcia, Enrique Tomas Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia, Rodrigo Sandoval Sr., Rodrigo Sandoval Jr., Ricardo Sandoval and Quique Garcia.
